THE mad price rises for cheap property in Wales may be slowing, the latest figures suggest.
Prices in South Wales rose by a tiny 0.1% this month, while there was no change at all in North Wales, according to the latest figures from housing information service Hometrack.
However, in Mid Wales, the price growth continues, with a healthy rise of 0.6%. The average price of a cheap property in the area now stands at £140,600.
A cheap property in South Wales will currently cost an average of £127,000, with houses in the north of the nation costing £119,300. Recent research by Halifax highlighted strong demand in seaside towns.
